The John W. Greene Jr chapter of the Black Pilots of America Inc. aka "Chesapeake Blackhawks" is a 501 (c)(3) organization chartered for a variety
of purposes. Chief, among these is to introduce young African Americans to the field fo aviation and its related industries.
We provide hundreds of youth, of all ethnic origins, with their first airplane rides. From these encounters, we encourage
them to stay in school, and upon graduation, we encourage them to attend college or pursue additional training to prepare
them for a career in Aviation and/or be competitive in the world of work.
We are an organization of licensed pilots
and others with interest in aviation that live in and serve our local and national communtities. Our membership includes students,
airline transport pilots, air traffic controllers, airplane mechanics and airport managers
